Stocks to watch on the Australian stock exchange on Thursday, July 31:

AQG – ALACER GOLD – down five cents, or 1.94 per cent, at $2.53

Shares in Alacer Gold are lower despite the company announcing it is on track to meet its second half production targets.

BXB – BRAMBLES – up four cents, or 0.43 per cent, at $9.29

Brambles chairman Graham Kraehe will leave the company in September, and will be replaced by former Leighton chairman Stephen Johns.

GMA – GENWORTH MORTGAGE INSURANCE AUSTRALIA – up 32 cents, or 9.79 per cent, at $3.59

Mortgage insurer Genworth has flagged a full year profit of up to $250 million amid higher premiums as a strong property market leads to fewer claims.

NBL – NONI B – down four cents, or 8.51 per cent, at 43 cents

Fashion retailer Noni B expects to post a full year loss of $2.2 million as it continues to struggle with weak sales.

RMS – RAMELIUS RESOURCES – down 0.1 cent, or 1.52 per cent, at 6.5 cents

Gold miner Ramelius Resources has reduced its cash costs and produced more than 25,000 ounces of gold in the June quarter.

TAH – TABCORP – up four cents, or 1.16 per cent, at $3.50

Tabcorp is buying the ACT government’s gaming business ACTTAB for $105.5 million.

TAP – TAP OIL – up four cents, or 7.27 per cent, at 59 cents

Shares in oil and gas explorer and producer Tap Oil have risen more than seven per cent as the company’s flagship Manora project nears production.
