Share market’s run of falls comes to end

The share market has ended a run of six straight losses as gains in the energy and financial sectors offset weakness among miners.

At the close on Thursday, the benchmark S&P/ASX 200 index was up 8.5 points, or 0.16 per cent, at 5,415.8, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 7.6 points, or 0.14 per cent, at 5,419, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the December share price index futures contract was eight points higher at 5,409 with 41,862 contracts traded.
