Aussie shares close lower

The Australian share market has closed lower, with weak gross domestic product (GDP) figures weighing on sentiment.

At the close on Wednesday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 32.3 points, or 0.54 per cent, lower at 5,901.6, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 31.4 points, or 0.53 per cent, at 5,871.5, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the March share price index futures contract was 41 points lower at 5,882, with 20,809 contracts traded.
