Aussie shares close lower

The Australian share market has closed almost one per cent lower amid falling commodity prices and weak Chinese economic data.

At the close on Thursday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 52.6 points, or 0.98 per cent, lower at 5,316.2, while the broader All Ordinaries index was down 50.1 points, or 0.94 per cent, at 5,302.4, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the December share price index futures contract was 54 points lower at 5,321, with 26,271 contracts traded.
