Aussie shares close higher

The Australian share market has closed higher, finishing its sixth straight day of gains at a six-year high.

At the close on Wednesday, the benchmark S&P/ASX200 index was 33.4 points, or 0.6 per cent, higher at 5,576.7, while the broader All Ordinaries index was up 33.0 points, or 0.60 per cent, at 5,567.0, according to preliminary figures.

On the ASX 24, the September share price index futures contract was 27 points higher at 5,522, with 30,822 contracts traded.
